Abstract

A well preserved fossil identified as Arahaeocyatha was found from the middle part of the Hyangsanri Dolomite Fromation which is a member of the so-called "Ogcheon System" at Hyangsanri(village) located 5 Km south of Chungju City, N. Chungcheong Province, Korea. The occurrence confirms the Early(to Middle) Cambrian age- of the country formation and, in turn, indicates the phanerozoic age of at part, at least, of the "Ogcheon System" the age of which was a point in strong dispute previously.
