Abstract

The pupae of fall webworm, Hyphantria cunea Drury, were collected from the rice straw band (band trap) In summer and in winter generations. Parasitoids. predators, and band trap were studied to obtain the biological control method of fall web-worm. 1. Dominant species of parasitoids proved to be Ichneumonidae and Chalcididae. 2. Total mortality of fall webworm pupa was 36.6％. 3. Thereuonema sp. were found in every band trap from Jane to October, and this species was found as preying on the pupae and adult of fall webworm. 4. Two species of swallows, one species of sparrow and spider were discoverd as the predator of fall webworm. 5. The most effective time of setting band trap to control winter generation of fall webworm is in August, and that dismantling them is early May, the next year. 6. The final instar larvae showed negative phototaxis and rice straw mat was proved to be the best material for band trap. 7, 10 Fam. 34 species of spiders were collected from the straw mat (band trap) and more spiders were hibernating than the fall webworms in the winter band trap.

1978~1981년까지 미국흰불나방의 생물학적 방제를 목적으로 잠복소를 설치하여 미국흰불나방의 용기생천적, 포식자 등의 천적을 조사하고 용화와 우화시기를 조사하여 효과적으로 잠복서설치를 위한 시기와 해체적기를 연구하고 잠복소도 비교검토하였다. 1. 미국흰부나방의 용기생천적은 맵시벌이 우점종이고 용발사율은 36.6%였다. 2. 가로수잠복소에서 여름에는 그리마 (Thereuonema sp)가 많았고 이 그리마는 미국흰불나방의 용과 성체를 포식하는 사실을 사육하여 확인했다. 3. 미국흰불나방을 포식하는 새에는 제비 (Hirundo daurira japonica Temminck et Schlegel) 귀제비 (Hirundo rustica Linne) 참새 (Passer montanus Dybowskii Domaniewskii)가 있었고 거미류로는 말꼬마거미 (Achaaranea tepidariorum L. Koch,)가 흰불나방 유충을 포식하는 것을 확인하였다. 4. 잠복소설치는 팔월중에 하여 이듬해 오월초에 해체소각하면 기생천적은 탈출한 후임으로 미국 흰불나방용만 구제하게된다. 5. 여름잠복소는 방제 방과가 있음으로 월동(이화기용 잠복소) 보다 좋으나 하면기간이 짧아서 잠복소 설치는 단시일에 해야 하고 칠월 잠복소에는 기생천적과 미국흰불나방 우화시기가 겹친다. 6. 미국흰불나방은 음성주광성이므로 종령유충 잠복소로 잠입시는 가마니, 볏짚섶, 후지등으로 암소를 만들어 주는 것이 효과적이며 강모로 고치를 짓기 때문에 틈이 많은 가마니, 섶, 골이있는 후지가 효과적이다. 7. 10과 34종의 거미를 월동잠복소에서 채집하였으며 동면 거미수는 미국흰불나방용보다 많다.
