Metamorphic Studies on the so-called Yulri and Weonnam Groups in the Mt. Taebaeg Area

소위 율리층군 및 원남층군의 변성암석학적 연구-태백산일대를 중심으로-

Abstract

The Mt. Taebaeg area which lies in the northeast of Sobaegsan Massif can be divided into two rock groups according to the metamorphic episodes, such as the multiple metamorphism in the gneisses and the mono-phase metamorphism in the schists. Three times of retrogressive metamorphism and much granitization or migmatitization took place in the area can be closely correlated to the other parts of Sobaegsan Massif. However, mono-phase metamorphism at the end of Precambrian age is recognized at the first time in the area. Rock and mineral composition changes with the grade of metamorphism and $K_D$ between the co-existing minerals, and assumption of geothermometer and geobarometer by means. of model proposed by Sang Man Lee and Holdaway (1977) are discussed.

태백산일대에 분포하는 선캠브리아기 변성암류는 변성상과 변성작용의 에피소드(episode)를 달리하는 두 암류가 분포한다. 다변성작용을 받은 편마암류와 단일상의 편암류사이에는 부정합 관계가 있음을 밝혔다. 본성의 편마암류가 3회의 후퇴변성작용을 거듭하여 온 것과 심한 화강암화작용 내지 미그마타이트 화작용을 받은 것은 타소백산육괴지역의 그것과 잘 대비된다. 그러나 본역 선캠브리아기 후기의 편암류는 단일상의 변성작용을 받은 것은 특이하다. 변성도에 따르는 암석 및 광물의 성분변화, 공생광물의 $K_D$ 그리고 자류석과 공생하는 근청석의 Fe/Fe+Mg비로 이상만 Hotdaway 방법(1977)에 의한 지온 및 지압의 추정 등을 시도하였다.
