Abstract

Percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) was done in 38-year-old female patient with membranous obstruction of IVC in the department of Radiology, Seoul National University Hospital. After PTA, pressure gradient between right atrium and IVC was relieved from 16mmHg to 6mmHg. The collateral circulation through hemiazygos vein and reflux into hepatic and right renal vein were disappeared. PTA is suggested to be an effective method in the treatment of membranous obstruction on IVC.
