A Comparative Study of Diversion Demands for LRT using Transfer Price and Stated Preference Data

Abstract

Stated preferences(SP) data has been widely used in the travel demand analysis as an adjunct to or replacement for revealed preferences(RP) data, and there is increasing interest in the use of transfer proce(TP) data. Since in recent years serveral cities have been considering impliementing the new transit system(LRT), a study is necessary to analyze the characteristics of the demand for LRT and diversion rate which would transfer passengers from other transport modes according to transit fares and travel times. This paper focuses on the estimation and application of SP models for predicting travel choices of LRT, based preference survry data in Uijongbu city. In addition to SP models, empirical comparison of TP models are likely to be a more efficient measurement of user's willingness to pay for LRT.

근년 새로운 교통수단인 경전철의 국내도입이 활발히 검토되면서, 장래 신교통수단(경전철)이 개통되어 운행될 때 실제 타 교통수단으로부터 얼마의 전환율이 이루어질 것이며 이용형태는 어떻게 변화될 것인지 잔환수요분석 및 이에 대한 예측수법 등에 관한 연구의 필요성이 제기되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 장래 도입될 의정부 경전철을 대상으로 새로운 교통시스템에 대한 전환가격(TP: Transfer Price) 및 여러 형태의 선호의식(SP: Stated Preferences)조사를 실시하였고, 이들 데이터를 이용하여 교통수단선택모델의 구축과 경전철의 요금변화에 따른 SP모델과 TP모델에 의한 전환수요를 비교 분석함으로서 장래 수요예측모델에의 실용적 적용방안을 파악하고자 하였다.
