Abstract
Purpose : This study was to investigate the effect of Gaejivoknyunghwan on in vitro growth inhibitory action of three different human uterine cells, human uterine normal cell(HUNC), human uterine endometrial cancer cell(HUEC) and human carcinoma cell(HUCA) lines. Methods : Three different human uterine cells were cultured in the RPMI 1640 media containing with different concentrated Gaejiboknyunghwan. The cytotoxicity, in vitro growth rate, MAP-kinase and phosphorylated MAP-kinase activity in the uterine narmal, endometrial cancer and carcinoma cell lines treated with Gaejiboknyunghwan containing media estimated the effect of inhibitory action. Results : The results were as follows 1. Gaejiboknyunghwan was showed toxic effect in the uterine normal cell line and its concentration was upper than 1%, respectively.2. Gaejiboknyunghwan was showed significantly efficient on the growth inhibitory action in the uterine cancer cell line than that of uterine normal cell line and its proposal concentration was 0.5%, respectively.3. Gaejiboknyunghwan lowered significantly MAP-kinase and phosphorylated MAP-kinase activity in the uterine cancer cell line cultured in the media containing Gaejiboknyunghwan. Conclusions : This study suggested that Gaejiboknyunghwan has revealed inhibitory action on the human uterine cancer cell growth in vitro. Therefore, Gaejiboknyunghwan was expecting the treatment of human uterine cancer patients.
