Abstract

This study aims to analyze the trend of Australian rice economy and production cost. Rice cultivating region is Riverina plain area in New South Wales, Australia. In recent years( 1998-2000), about 1,291 thousand tonnes(paddy rice base) of rice produced on the 135,000 ha in the country. About 85% of Australian rice production exports to more than 40 countries. That makes Australia is the main exporter of Japonicatype rice in the international market. The current situation and trend of Australian rice industry and structure of production cost are described in this paper
