Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate an effects of different weight loss item on metabolism regulatory hormone and body composition in response to 12 weeks weight loss program(Dietary Restriction; DR group, Aerobic Exercise & Dietary Restriction ; AEDR group, Aerobic Exercise ; AE group). In aerobic exercise, the intensity was 50-85% HRmax, the duration was above 60min/day, the frequency was 3times/week on AEDR group and 6times/week on AE group. In caloric restriction, a deficit of 250 kcal on AEDR group and 500Kcal on DR group. For this study, twenty middle aged women of 35% body fat were chosen as subjects. The subjects carried on exercise and caloric restriction for 12weeks. Before and 6weeks, 12weeks after the intervention blood variables and body composition variables were measured. Statistical techniques for data analysis were two way repeated ANOVA to determine the differences among groups and two way repeated ANOVA to determine the differences between periods. The 5% level of significance was used as the critical level for acceptance of hypotheses for this study. The experimental results from this study are the following. 1. As a results of the weight loss program, weight, % body fat and BM were significantly decreased AEDR and AE groups. but WHR was no significantly difference in all group. 2. As a results of the weight loss program, thyroxine was significantly increased in all group. and FFA was significantly decreased in AE and DR group. 3. As a results of the weight loss program, AEDR group only significantly decreased on abdominal subcutaneous fat area.
