The purpose of this study is to identify an acquisition material duplication rate among three academic libraries for developing an academic library network. Three academic libraries located in Gyonggi-do, Korea were selected for data collection. The acquisition lists in both 2000 and 2001 were compared and analyzed between two libraries respectively. The results show that the duplication rate is 0.4% in 2000 and 2.8% in 2001 between medium in libraries, and 1.33%, 1.11% in 2000 and 3.63%, 3.88% in 2001 between a big size library and medium size libraries. These tell us that a big library can get benefit from a library network with medium size libraries.
대학도서관간 정보네트워크 발전을 위한 기초조사로서, 대학도서관들 사이에 연간 구입되는 자료들의 중복 비율을 조사하였다. 경기도 소재 3개 대학도서관을 연구 대상으로 하여, 2000년도 2001년도 구입자료 리스트를 통해 각각 2개 대학간 동일한 자료 구입 비율을 분석하였다. 연구 결과 구입자료의 중복율은 서로 유사한 규모의 대학도서관은 2000 년도에 불과 0.4%, 2001년도에 2.8%, 그리고 규모의 차이가 있는 대학도서관간에는 2000년도 1.33%와 1.11%, 2001년도엔 3.63%와 3.88%였다. 이는 교원수, 학부학생수, 전공수를 많이 가지고 있는 대학도서관과 적게 가지고 있는 대학도서관이 서로 자원을 공유하는 정보네트워크를 구축하여도 서로 이득을 얻을 수 있음을 보여준다.
