Abstract
Purpose : In postpartum period, women are liable to vanous diseases. Postpartum apoplexy is mainly caused by the weakness of 'ki-hyul' and it belongs under the classification of postpartum disease. The main causation of it is different from general cerebral infarction though symptoms are similar to the general one. The important point in treating its patient is that the patient is in the postpartum period. I suggest that treating with this point will bring a efficacious result. Methods : The patient in this case, 21 years-old female was in Daejeon University oriental medical hospital for 29days(5th/Jan/2002 - 2th/Feb/2002). Her chief complaints when she was admitted in the hospital were general body weakness, vomiting, nausea, and headache. Dysarthria, tremor and weakness of left. limbs, and voiding sense dysfunction occurred while she was in the hospital. These symptoms were caused by cerebral infarction. After giving her the therapies with herb medicine, moxa, and negative, her symptoms got almost disappeared and her condition got better. And she got discharged with self walking. Results & Conclusion : The oriental medical treatment cerebral infarction have showed its excellent efficacy through many experiments and theses. Its clinical practices are actively taken as well. Not many postpartum apoplexy patients have been in clinical practices yet. But, the superior efficacy will follows the active effort.
