Bridge Scour Protection Using Sack Gabions

원형교각 주위의 돌망태 세굴 보호공

Abstract

A sack gabion as an alternative to a riprap, which has been most common practice for bridge scour protection, was investigated experimentally for failure mechanims, effects of significant parameters on its failure and its sizing in a clear-water condition. The dominating failure mechanism was found to be a shear failure. Based on the experimental data, the controlling factors for the stability of sack gabion as a scour countermeasure at a bridge pier are flow depth relative to pier diameter, length to thickness ratio of sack gabions, coverage, alignment and placement depth of sack gabions. A design equation for sizing of sack gabion is proposed in terms of Froude number and factors reflecting the effects of significant parameters.

교각주위 세굴보호공으로서 돌망태의 파손양상, 주요변수의 파손에 대한 영향 및 크기 결정과정이 정지상 수로에서 실험적으로 조사되었다. 주 파손 양상은 전단파손으로 나타났으며 실험자료에 의하면 교각에서 돌망태 세굴보호공의 안전성에 지배적인 변수는 접근수심, 돌망태의 길이/두께비, 부설범위, 배열 및 부설깊이이다. 돌망태의 설계식이 후르드수와 주요 변수의 영향을 반영하는 인자들의 항으로 제안된다.
