Abstract

This experiment was conducted to find out the possibility of which mixed mediums combined waste rock wool slab with other materials may be good for substrate of cut rose Vital at the hydroponic culture for three years. Porosities of the media were all over 90% except that using particles of reused rock wool (RR). Gaesous phase rate was highest in mixed reused rock wool slab with perlite (RR+P) by 21.7%. All media showed mild acidity about pH 6.5, but it has showed mild alkalic pH 7.08 in new rock wool slab (NR). Almost all media had safety condition in terms of salinity less than 0.5 dSm EC, but level of Caand SO in the media of high temperature season was concentrated higher in RR+pine wood chips (PC) and RR+chestnut wood chips than other mediums. Cut flower yield was the most plentiful in RR+PC medium as 617.8 stems per 10 plants and marketable flower rate was maintained in all media above 90% for three years.
