Abstract
This study was to examine a structural model of relationship among leadership of sport administrators and empowerment and organizational commitment. The purpose of this study was to clarify the suitability on a theory model of the leadership, empowerment and commitment, and was to explore the interactions between each variables. The subjects of this study were staffs working at commercial sports centers in Seoul, Using random sampling method, 230 subjects were selected. The reliability and validity of the questionnaires were checked up by the confirmatory factor analysis and reliability analysis. To analyze the data collected for this study, SPSSWIN 11.0 program were used for correlation analysis and regression analysis. On the basis of the method and process, the conclusions were drawn as follows; First, the leadership significantly influenced the degree of empowerment. When the leadership of administrators of commercial sport organizations is more transactional and transformational, the authority and autonomy, impact, and competence of organization members are extended. Second, the leadership contributed significant influence on organizational commitment. The more transactional and transformational leadership of administrators of commercial sport organizations were shown, the more organization members showed a commitment to the organization. Third, the empowerment contributed significant influence on organizational commitment. When the authority and autonomy, impact, and competence of organization members were extended, the organizational commitment of members to the organization was improved.
