Abstract
Adenomyosis has long been an underdiagnosed condition of the uterus. With the advent of uterine embolization of fibroids, interest in adenomyosis has increased. It is the presence of uterine lining tissue deep within the myometrium or muscular wall of the uterus.It most commonly occurs in women who have had children, raising questions as to a possible role that pregnancy may have in its development. Uterine trauma during childbirth and post-partum infection have been suggested as possible causes of adenomyosis. The most common symptom of adenomyosis is menorrhagia and dysmenorrhea. There is usually globular enlargement in the uterus on pelvic examination and the uterus may be somewhat boggy if the adenomyosis is advanced. The posterior wall of the uterus is more commonly involved than the anterior.We treated 1 outpatient who had adenomyosis and visited KyungWon InCheon Oriental Hospital by Herb-medication, acupuncture and moxa therapy and got good result from themA woman who was 54 years old complained menorrhagia and dysmenorrhea had treated from February, 2003, and by Herb-med, Kyeukhacheukeu-Tang, Hyunbulikyung-Tang. After had Herb-med treatment, CA-125, that used Tumor Maker, level was reduced, and symptom that she complained was improved.
