Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate whether there were any changes in taste sensitivity with wearing dentures One hundred and ten subjects (45 males and 65 females) were included for the study and they were categorized into 2 groups (control 50 persons, denture wearer 60 persons) and investigated in the clinic at Masan city from september, 2003 until march, 2004 The electrical taste thresholds were measured using an electrogustometer for the 4 different sites (tongue tip, tongue lateral, circumvallate papilla and soft palate) in oral cavity The results were as follows, 1. There were no significant differences in the electrical taste threshold between males and females of the control and the denture group. 2. In the control and denture group, old aged group($\geq$65) was significant higher than middle aged group( <65) in the electrical taste threshold. 3. There were no significant differences in the electrical taste threshold between the control group and the denture group. 4. There were no significant differences in the electrical taste threshold between the removable partial denture group and the complete denture group, and also between the pre-wearing and the post-wearing dentures.
의치의 사용에 의해 미각기능의 변화가 있는지를 확인하기 위하여, 2003년 9월부터 2004년 3월까지 치과의 원에 내원한 의치를 착용하지 않은 치과환자 50명을 대조군으로 의치착용 환자 60명을 실험군으로하여, 전기 미각역치를 측정한 후 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 대조군과 실험군 공히 남녀의 전기미각역치는 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 2. 대조군과 실험군 공히 65세 이상의 미각역치가 65세 미만의 역치에 비해 유의하게 높았다. 3. 실험군의 미각역치는 대조군과 비교하여 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 4. 부분의치착용 환자군과 총의치착용 환자군의 미각역치는 서로 차이가 없었고, 의치착용 전후에도 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다.
