One hundred sixteen female workers from automobile product assembly line filled out first questionnaire. After taking stretching exercise for four weeks, seventy seven workers were selected as a final subject of analysis and they completed second questionnaire in order to investigate variation of personal health behavior. Among the subjects who have musculoskeletal pain of neck and shoulder, four weeks regular exercise taken experimental subjects and no exercise taken control subjects were compared to evaluate effectiveness of stretching exercise. As a result of study, the prevalence of symptom was 71.43% in the subjects of work-related musculoskeletal self-consciousness symptom. The most of study subjects experienced pain everyday. The pain was most severly appeared when they get out of bed and stand for work. Experimental subjects were remarkably improved than control subjects in the pain scale, and the degree of pain in experimental subjects decreased statistically significant(P<.01). Moreover, among the experimental subjects, pain improved study subjects tend to be increased. Therefore, this study showed that stretching exercise was tremendously effective to decrease pain in musculoskeletal symptom of neck and shoulder.
