Abstract

Happymi is a new sweetpotato variety developed from Mokpo Experiment Station, National Institute of Crop Science(NICS), RDA in 2004, which was for the raw eating and processing. This variety was selected from the cross between Chinmi andMA 3 in 1996, seedling and line selections were practiced from 1997 to 1998, and preliminary and advanced yield trials were car-ried out fi-om 1999 to 2001. The regional yield trials were conducted at six locations fi-om 2002 to 2004. Happymi has cordateNumber ofstorage roots over 50 gram per plant was 4.1, and the average weight ofone storage root was 162 gram. This variety is resistant to Fusarium wilt and nematode.
