Abstract

An Exploratory Study on Collaboration Patterns of Human Service Nonprofit Organizations Chisung Park This study explores hidden patterns of collaboration among human service nonprofit organizations in Pittsburgh. This study produces two significant findings with the help of a social network analysis: First, differences of collaborative relationships result in different structural patterns of networks. Second, network analysis reveals two types of strategically significant actors who play a hub and broker role in the networks. The contribution of this study is not only to add knowledge to existing literature but also to provide researchable hypotheses for future studies. Key words: nonprofit organizations, collaboration network, social services
