Comparative study on the performance of weighted and unweighted scores in Oral Health Impact Profile measurements

Abstract

Objectives: The aims of the study were to compare the discriminant of Oral Health Impact Profile measure methods. Methods: The sample of this study consisted of 510 in nation wide elderly welfare ad free institution old than 65 years through face to of interviews of cluster sampling method. Results: OHIP-ADD, OHIP-WS, OHIP-SS and OHIP-SC between elderly wearing denture(Yes/No), elderly with dry mouth(Yes/No), elderly whose remaining tooth are less than 20 or more, dental status(edentulous/dentate), and perceived oral heath status of self-reported discriminant statistically significance. Conclusions: OHIP-ADD were better discriminator than the other method of differences each category.
