Abstract
Flowering characteristics of Evodia daniellii Hemsley and foraging activity of honeybees were investigated in 2004 and in 2005 at the Daegu University and obtained following conclusion. 1. Evodia daniellii Hemsley is a hermaphrodite species. Male flowers of E. daniellii bloom early compared with the female flowers. Female flowers bloom one or ture days after male flowers leave blooming.2. The male flowers bloomed for 21 days while the female flowers in 2004, bloomed for 8 days.3. The male flowers bloomed for 19 days while the female flowers in 2005, bloomed for 12 days.4. Early blooming trees were 9 trees, while late bloming trees were 6 trees in 2004.Early blooming trees were 23 trees, while late bloming trees were 13 trees in 2005.The early blooming 9 trees in 2004 bloomed early in 2005, while the 3 late blooming trees among 6 trees in 2004 blomed late in 2005.5. Foraging activity of honeybees started 7:00 a.m. and ended 7:00 p.m The activity showed two peaks, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon, which was lower than the morning peak. 6. Foraging activity of honeybees started from July 5th to August 29th.
