Abstract
In this paper, the behaviors and design procedures of innovative prestressed scaffolding (IPS) system are presented considering construction step. Tension-only cable element and compression-only truss element are used for the IPS cable and soil, respectively, in the F.E. analysis model. The effects of initial pretension, design and over-loaded earth pressure are investigated considering construction step. Axial forces and bending moments of IPS wale under initial pretension and design earth pressure are calculated. The combined stresses due to these axial force and bending moment were estimated to satisfy the design formula.
