The Oral Health Behaviors of Workers by Dental Caries

근로자의 치아우식수에 따른 구강보건형태

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate into company workers' general characteristics and their awareness or oral health examinations. Answer sheets for questionnaire for 267 industrial workers at Changwon city, Korea, were collected and analyzed using SPSS 12.0. Among workers who haven't visited a dental clinic for last one year, 75.6% of them didn't have dental caries. 74.0% of workers who haven't received dental scaling didn't have dental caries. 84.4% of workers who thought of themselves as having good oral health had good oral health and none of them had dental caries. 9.1% of people who had dental caries of 4 or more had bad breath. 73.4% of workers didn't need to treat dental caries, while scaling in 57.7% of them was required. To reform and improve of the system, incremental dental health care system for industrial workers is needed. Oral health education is needed to increase the motivation of industrial workers to control their basic disease.

본 연구는 근로자들의 구강상병검진제도를 실시하여 구강보건행태를 조사하고, 구강건강증진사업의 기초자료를 마련할 목적으로 2008년 9월 24일 경상남도 창원시에 위치한 S사업장에서 20세이상 267명의 근로자를 대상으로 설문조사 후 구강검진을 실시하였다. 수집된 자료의 분석은 SPSS version 12.0 for window를 이용하고 그 결과를 분석하여 근로자의 과거병력, 주관적인 구강건강에 대한 인식도, 구강건강관리행태, 주관적인 구강증상 실태를 조사하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 본 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 1. 지난 1년간 치과병의원에 내원한 경험이 있는 근로자중 우식치아가 없는 근로자가 75.6%이었고, 치과 병의원에 내원한 경험이 없는 근로자중 우식치아가 없는 근로자는 52.8%이었다(p < .001). 2. 주관적인 구강건강상태는 건강하다라고 응답한 근로자중 우식 치아가 없는 근로자는 84.4%이었고, 충치가 있다라고 응답한 근로자중 우식치아가 없는 근로자는 43.5%이었고, 4개 이상인 근로자는 10.9%로 나타났다(p < .001). 3. 간식선호 유무는 그렇다라고 응답한 근로자중 우식치아가 없는 근로자는 49.3%이있고, 우식치아수에 따른 잇솔질 방법은 옆으로 한다라고 응답한 근로자중 우식치아수가 1-3개이상인 근로자는 52.1%이었고, 위 아래로 한다, 손목을 돌려가 면서 닦는다라고 응답한 근로자중 우식치아가 없는 근로자는 68.5%, 72.2%로 각 각 높게 나타났다(p < .001). 4. 잇솔질시 이가 시리다라고 응답한 근로자중 우식치아수가 없는 근로자 51.6%, 이가 시리지 않다라고 응답한 근로자 69.8%로 나타났다(p < .001). 입이 잘 안벌어진다라고 응답한 근로자중 우식치아수가 1-3개인 근로자 65.0%, 입에서 냄새가 난다라고 응답한 근로자중 우식치아수가 없는 근로자에서 72.6%로 가장 높게 나타났다(p < .001). 5. 구강검진결과 전체 근로자의 73.4%가 치아우식증 치료가 필요하지 않다고 나타났으며, 치석제거가 필요하다라고 한 근로자는 57.7%이었고, 치주질환이 있고 치료가 필요하다고 한 근로자는 60.7%로 나타났다. 이상과 같은 결과로 우식치아수에 따른 근로자 구강상병 검진제도의 필요성이 검토되었고, 검진시 형식적인 검사에만 그치는 것이 아니라, 구강보건상담과 교육을 통해 근로자들의 구강선간을 유지하는데 실질적 도움이 되는 방향으로 동기를 유발시킬 필요성이 있는 것으로 사료된다.
