Relationship of Korean Translated Bepsi Score and Family Apgar Score Among Korean Multicultural Families in South Jeolla Province

다문화가정 이주여성에서의 가족기능과 스트레스의 관계: 전라남도 일개 군 지역을 중심으로

Abstract

Department of Family Medicine, Chonnam National University Hwasun Hospital, Hwasun, Korea Within a recent few years, the number multicultural families had been increasing rapidly in Korea. This study was conducted to investigate relationship of stress and family function of multicultural families. Study subjects were 75 foreign women who had been married with Korean men and immigrated into Korea. All participants were registered in one of three migration support centers in South Jeolla province. They completed self-administered questionnaires which evaluated demographic information, family APGAR score, and Korean translated BEPSI scores. Mean of family APGAR score is 6.27${\pm}$3.23 and mean of Korean translated BEPSI score is 1.33${\pm}$1.18. Family APGAR score has inverse correlation to Korean translated BEPSI score after correction other socio-demographic characteristics. Multicultural families may show inverse correlation between stress and family function. We needs to be concerned with family dysfunction if women in multicultural family shows stress related disorders.

최근 국제결혼을 통한 다문화가정이 빠르게 증가하고 있다. 본 연구는 다문화가정의 가족기능과 스트레스의 관계를 보기 위해 시행되었다. 전라남도 일개 군 지역 3개 이주민지원센터에 등록중인 75명의 다문화가정 이주 여성을 대상으로 가족 기능도 지수(Family APGAR score)와 한국어 수정판 BEPSI (Brief Encounter Psychosocial Instrument)를 측정하여 그 관계를 살펴보았다. 연구 결과 다문화가정 이주여성의 가족기능도지수의 평균은 6.27${\pm}$3.23, BEPSI 스트레스양의 평균은 1.33${\pm}$1.18로 측정되었으며, 가족기능지수는 다른 변수들을 보정한 후에도 스트레스량과 음의 관계를 보였다. 다문화가정 이주여성에서 가족기능과 스트레스는 음의 상관관계를 가지며, 스트레스 관련 질환을 호소하거나 의심되는 경우 가족기능의 이상을 의심해 볼 수 있다.
