Abstract

Electrospinning is one of the simplest methods for nanofiber fabrication. To investigate the effect of spinning solution conductivity on the spinning behavior and the web morphology, PEO was dissolved in two different solvents, $H_2O$ and ethanol. Also the conductivity of the PEO/water solution was controlled by adding NaCl. The study revealed that the spinnability became poor as the NaCl concentration increased when the applied voltage was lower than a certain level. However, the variance and the average of the fiber diameter decreased with the concentration. As the conductivity increased, the jet movement became more complex.
