A study on the association between job satisfaction and social support among school teachers: Focusing on the structural equation models

일선현장 교사의 사회적 지지와 직무만족의 관계 연구: 구조방정식 모형을 중심으로

Abstract

This study aims at investigating the association of job satisfaction and social support among school teachers. Total 186 out of 193 questionnairs returned were analyzed. Job satisfaction levels are significantly related to social support. Relations with immediate supervisors, co-workers, and degree of family support are also significantly contributed to job satisfaction among school teachers. Research models adopted in this study are statistically related and all the latent and observed variables are related each other. However, supervisor's relationship is the most significant predictor, followed by co-worker's relationship and consideration of job displacement. Among the latent variables, level of job stability is the best predictor, followed by social support. In conclusion, strategies for encouraging vocational rehabilitation counselors, such as monetary compensation and various types of awards, are suggested.

특수교육은 장애학생들이 졸업후 사회에 진출하여 직업생활을 하는데 있어서 중요한 직업준비과정을 책임지고 있다. 본 연구는 일반교사와 특수교사의 직무만족과 사회적 지지와의 관계를 구명함으로써 장기근속을 통한 전문직의 안정과 교육의 질적인 측면을 향상시킬 수 있는 방법과 전략을 모색하고 직업재활실천영역에 미치는 함의점들을 살펴보는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해서 일반교사 110명과 특수교사 83명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시했다. 그 결과, 일반교사에 대해서는 상사의 지지와 동료의 지지가, 특수교사에 대해서는 상사, 동료 및 가족의 지지가 직무만족에 있어 통계적으로 유의미한 영향력을 갖고 있었다. 이러한 연구결과를 통해서 장애인의 직업재활 전문인력, 일반교사와 특수교사의 직무만족도를 높이기 위한 방법들로 직업현장의 환경개선, 계속교육의 강화, 그리고 서비스 제공자와 이용자 사이의 격려를 위한 방법들을 제안하였다. 끝으로 일선현장 학교교사라고 하는 전문직종에 종사하는 사람들에게 질문지를 통해 얻은 내용들을 분석, 해석하였지만 특수교사는 직업재활상담사가 서비스를 제공하는 내담자들에게 앞서 교육하는 일차 서비스제공자이므로 여기서 얻은 연구자료들을 통해 직업재활임상실천상의 함의점들을 극대화하고자 하였다.
