Abstract
With the global warming and climate chage, CO2 emission reduction issues are public eyes. Policy is now moving towards reducing the emission of greenhouse gases since Kyoto Protocol and Climate Change Convention. At the urban planning level, carbon emission is also an urgent problem to cope with. This study starts from questioning that mixed land-use development in city area can affect the emission of Carbondioxide. We constructed triple layer model steps; establishing mode choice model, estimating the emission of Carbondioxide focused in Seoul, and simulation through scenario analysis. The measured influence of mixed land-use development on reduction of carbon emission could be a strategy to maintain sustainable development and deal with climate change era in urban planning level. From the empirical studies of Seoul, dispersion and concentration mixing as well as mixed land use are important in the end.
