Key Success Factors for Execution Power of the Six Sigma Project Improvement Plan in Public Sectors

Abstract

The success of six sigma management innovation is significantly inflenced by implementing an improvement scheme according to plan. sustain implementation of previous projects for improvement is the most important factor for success of six sigma. the purpose of this research is to verify whether success factors(common and essential factor) of major management innovation such as Six Sigma, TQM, Lean Six Sigma, ERP, TPM, BPR, Project Management, System Engineering are critical for implementing six sigma project in public sector. in order to achieve objective of this research, following major steps were carried out. first, data was collected from 47 professionals who have experience on six sigma project for over five years in manufacturing industry, finance industry, service industry and public sector. afterwards, those data were analyzed cluster analysis using SAS 9.1 E-Miner. then, the purpose of research and analysis is were explained to 10 professionals who have experience on six sigma project for public sector for over five years in order to define clusters to select. the four success factors for implementing six sigma project in public sector are defined like below, supporting improvement project by CEO, proper project selection for a business policy and a direction of innovation, regular check and monitoring improvement project and willingness to carry out. survey data was collected from 52 professionals(MBB and BB) who has experience on six sigma project in public sector in order verity correlation between key success factors and the enhancement of implementation. then, reliability test and validity test were conducted using SPSS 16.0 statistical package for the social sciences.
