The Relationship Among Participation in Exercise and Sports, Health Oriented Behavior and Well-dying of the Elderly in the Home

재가 노인의 운동실천과 건강지향행동 및 웰다잉의 관계

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the relationship among participation in exercise and sports, health oriented behavior and well-dying of the elderly in the home. Using a stratified cluster random sampling method, subjects of this study were sampled 738(622 participants, 116 none participants) the elderly. The results from this study can be summarized as followings; First, women have more health oriented behavior and social role activity than men. But, men are higher psychological well-being than women. And the higher scholarship and the better economic state and perceived health state, the higher health oriented behavior, social role activity and psychological well-being. Second, exercise participants has more health oriented behavior, social role activity, and psychological well-being than none participants. Third, the level of exercise participation and health oriented behavior is a positive influence on social role activity, psychological well-being and well-dying of the elderly. Fourth, the primary factor affecting well-dying of the elderly in the home is health oriented behavior. Also, the level of exercise participation and health oriented behavior has significantly indirect influence on well-dying of the elderly through social role activity and psychological well-being.

이 연구는 재가 노인의 운동실천 정도와 건강지향행동, 사회적 역할활동, 심리적 복지감 및 웰다잉의 인과적 관계를 규명하고자 하였다. 연구 목적을 위해 유층집락표집 방법을 통해 운동참가 노인 622명, 운동 비참가 노인 116명 등 총 738명을 수집하여 조사한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. 첫째, 여성이 남성에 비해 건강지향 행동과 사회적 역할활동을 더 많이 하는 반면, 심리적 복지감은 남성이 여성에 비해 높다. 학력이 높고, 경제상태가 좋을수록, 그리고 인지된 건강상태가 좋을수록 건강지향행동과 사회적 역할활동, 심리적 복지감이 높다. 둘째, 운동을 실천하는 노인이 비실천 노인에 비해 건강지향행동과 사회적 역할활동을 더 많이 하고, 심리적 복지감도 높다. 셋째, 재가 노인의 운동실천 정도와 건강지향행동은 노인의 사회적 역할활동과 심리적 복지감에 긍정적 영향을 미치며, 건강지향행동은 노인의 웰다잉에 긍정적 영향을 미친다. 넷째, 재가 노인의 웰다잉에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 요인은 건강지향행동이었다. 또한 노인의 운동실천과 건강지향행동은 사회적 역할활동과 심리적 복지감에 영향을 미쳐 웰다잉에 간접적으로 영향을 미친다.
