The Impact of Climate Change on the Forest Recreation Demand

기후변화가 산림휴양수요에 미치는 영향

Abstract

This study analysed the impact of climate change by global warming on the forest recreation demand. Data of monthly visitor number of 18 national parks and monthly average temperature of 7 major cities from January, 2003 to October, 2009 was analysed. The results from the Granger Causality showed that the climate change influenced the forest recreation demand. Also the Impulse Response Analysis showed that the climate change positively influenced the forest recreation demand for five months. And the result of variance decompositions showed that the forest recreation demand was mainly influenced by itself, on the other hand, the influence of climate change had an effect on forest recreation demand about 18%.

본 연구는 지구온난화로 인한 기후변화가 산림을 기반으로 하는 휴양활동수요에 미치는 파급효과를 분석하였다. 분석 자료는 2003년 1월부터 2009년 10월까지의 월별 국립공원 탐방객 수와 7개 대도시의 월평균 기온자료를 사용하였다. Granger 인과관계 분석결과 기후변화는 산림휴양수요에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 충격반응 분석에서도 기후변화에 따라 산림휴양수요가 5개월까지 지속적으로 양(+)의 반응을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 분산분해분석 결과 산림휴양수요는 자체변수에 의해 가장 많이 영향을 받는 것으로 나타난 반면, 기후변화에 의해서는 약 18% 정도 설명되는 것으로 나타났다.
