Seasonal Change of Phytoplankton Community and Water Quality in Yeongsan River Watershed

영산강 수계의 수질과 식물플랑크톤의 계절적 변화

Abstract

Environmental parameters and phytoplankton community structure were investigated at four sites of Yeongsan River between April 2010 and December 2011. The standing crops of the phytoplankton ranged from $275cells{\cdot}mL^{-1}$ to $58,600cells{\cdot}mL^{-1}$ with an average of $5,850cells{\cdot}mL^{-1}$. The dominant species were Cyclotella sp., Stephanodiscus sp., Aulacoseira granulata, Scenedesmus quadricauda, Pediastrum biwae, Coelastrum sp., Aphnizomenon sp., and Oscillatoria sp.. The most dominant species was Stephanodiscus sp.. The concentration of chlorophyll-a ranged from $2.3mg{\cdot}m^{-3}$ to $164.2mg{\cdot}m^{-3}$. The phytoplankton community structure of the survey area was influenced by temperature and rainfall.

본 연구는 2010년 4월부터 2011년 12월까지 영산강수계의 4개의 지점을 선정하여 수질과 일차생산량을 나타내는 식물플랑크톤의 현존량과의 관계를 규명하기 위하여 물리 화학적 환경요인 (수온, 용존산소량, pH, 총질소, 총인, 부유물질), 식물플랑크톤의 현존량, Chlorophylla의 농도를 조사하였다. 조사기간 동안 식물플랑크톤의 종 조성은 규조강 43종, 녹조강 93종, 남조강 16종, 기타 강 22종으로 총 174종으로 조사되었다. 식물플랑크톤의 개체군 밀도는 $275cells{\cdot}mL^{-1}{\sim}58,600cells{\cdot}mL^{-1}$으로 조사되었다. 봄철과 가을철에는 Cyclotella sp., Stephanodiscus sp.와 같은 규조강, 여름철에는 Scenedesmus quadricauda, Pediastrum biwae 및 Coelastrum sp.와 같은 녹조강과 Aulacoseira granulata와 같은 규조강이 우점하였으며, 가을과 겨울에는 Cyclotella sp., Stephanodiscus sp.와 같은 규조강과 Aphanizomenon sp., Oscillatoria sp.와 같은 남조강이 우점하는 것으로 조사되었다. Chlorophyll-a의 농도는 식물플랑크톤 현존량의 월별 변동과 대부분 같은 경향으로 변화하였다.
