A Study on the Monitoring System for Emergency Recognition of Elderly People Living Alone

독거 노인의 응급 상황 인식을 위한 모니터링 시스템에 관한 연구

Abstract

This paper examined the monitoring system for emergency recognition of elderly people living alone. In order to observe daily life we used a wireless sensor, and when special circumstances occur, the system transfers data wirelessly to notify a guardian. The system was to observe the indoor environment, collapses and movements in the bathroom. The system used direct detection method, attachable to clothes and indirect method. The obtained data are wireless enabling connections observation and minimizing users' discomfort. This system can observe elderly people living alone either directly or indirectly and when an emergency occurs, it is possible to respond quickly.

본 연구에서는 고령의 독거노인들의 응급 상황을 인식하여 보호자에게 전달하는 모니터링 시스템을 연구하였다. 일상생활을 관찰하기 위해서는 무선 센서들을 이용하고 특별한 상황이 발생할 경우 무선으로 데이터를 전송하여 응급상황임을 알리도록 하였다. 노인이 일상 생활하는 실내의 환경, 넘어짐 그리고 화장실에서의 움직임을 관찰하도록 하였다. 노인의 옷에 직접 부착하는 직접 감지방법과 간접으로 상태를 확인하는 방법을 함께 사용하였다. 얻어진 데이터는 무선으로 전송되므로 사용자의 불편함이 최소화되고 지속적인 관찰이 가능하다. 본 연구의 시스템으로 독거노인의 상태를 직접 또는 간접으로 관찰하여 응급 상황이 발생했을 경우 신속한 대응이 가능하다.
