Abstract

Objective : This study set up the definition of an occupational therapist and its conception and job scope so that the basic job performance ability, problem solving ability, and overall thought ability required in the field for new occupational therapists can be evaluated and verified, and the systematized knowledge, skills, and attitudes resulting from the above research analyzed. Methods : We conducted a research analysis of the job characteristics, set up the definition of an occupational therapist and its conception and job scope, and conducted a job analysis of occupation therapists, targeting occupational therapy experts and a new group of occupational therapists with less than 3 years of experience, from January 2012 to November 2013. Results : The number of duties increased from five (patient assessment, occupational therapy, education, management, and self-development) to six (consultation, assessment, intervention planning, intervention, education and management, and self-development) in this job analysis, compared to the primary job analysis in 2000. The number of tasks also increased from 32 to 37, while the number of task elements was reduced from 168 to 131. These results show that the job area of occupational therapy was extended, and the contents of the job were greatly changed. Conclusion : Based on this job analysis of occupational therapists, we standardized the contents of clinical practice and made students majoring in occupational therapy receive structured clinical training, reflecting the current job. This study will bring an improvement in the quality of occupational therapy education and a contribution to an expansion of the area of occupational therapy.

목적 : 본 연구의 목적은 신규작업치료사들에게 작업치료 현장에서 요구되는 기본 직무와 문제해결능력, 종합적 사고능력을 평가하고 검증할 수 있도록 작업치료사의 정의와 직무의 개념과 범위를 정립하고, 이에 따른 작업치료사의 지식, 기술, 태도를 명확히 정의하는데 있다. 연구방법 : 2012년 1월부터 2013년 11월까지 작업치료 전문가 집단 및 3년차 이하 신규 작업치료사 집단을 대상으로 국내 작업치료사들의 직무특성 조사, 작업치료사의 정의 및 작업치료사 직무에 대한 개념과 범위 정립, 작업치료사 직무분석 등을 진행하였다. 결과 : 2000년도 직무분석에서는 임무(duty)가 5개(환자평가, 작업치료, 교육, 관리, 자기개발)였는데 반하여 2013년에는 6개(상담, 평가, 중재계획, 중재, 교육 및 관리, 자기개발)로 증가하였다. 또한 작업 (task)이 32개였는데 2013년에는 37개 항목으로 증가하였으며, 작업요소(task element)는 168개에서 131개로 감소하는 등 최신의 작업치료사 직무분석을 통하여 작업치료 업무 영역 확대와 더불어 업무 내용적으로도 많은 변화가 있었음을 알 수 있었다. 결론 : 본 2013년 작업치료사 직무분석을 바탕으로 작업치료를 전공하는 학생들이 현재 직무를 반영한 체계화된 임상교육을 받도록 임상실습 내용을 표준화하고, 작업치료 교육의 질적 향상 및 작업치료 영역확대를 위한 추가적 모색 등이 이어져야 할 것이다.
