Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relation of stress of clinical practice, practice satisfaction and clinical competence in college nursing students. The study was conducted, based on a sample of 410 students in Gunsan, Korea and the data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test and Pearson correlation with SPSS 19.0 program. As a result of correlation analysis, there were significant differences in stress of clinical practice, practice satisfaction and clinical competence according to religion, health status, interpersonal relationship, satisfaction on campus life, grade, satisfaction on clinical practice. Also, stress of clinical practice was negatively related with practice satisfaction and clinical competence. For the improvement of clinical competence in nursing students, the extent of stress of clinical practice should be identified and it is needed that proper exercise program reducing stress of clinical practice should be developed.
