Abstract

Recent trend of livestock farm is getting bigger and bigger in scale. As a result of it, current livestock management system already exposes the limit that is the reason why we need the calf feeding robot. "Step-down method" is typical way of management; however, it has problems in livestock farm such as lack of labor and time. This research suggests the calf feeding robot with intelligent functions: individual management of each calf, automatic output of feeding amount for individual stocks depending on their weight and age, and auto feeding. In this research, we classified the calves in 2 groups to verify the calf feeding robot - group (A) fed by original way, group (B) fed by precise measuring using the calf feeding robot and raise them for 50 days. Comparing the weight data between two groups, we found out that the weight of group (B) is increased 33.2% more than of group (A) after 50 days.
