The most important role of actors is to transmit the thoughts and feelings to the audience or viewers. The expression methods of acting of each genre are clearly different. 연기자에게 가장 중요한 역할은 관객 또는 시청자에게 생각과 감정을 전달하는 것이다. 각 장르의 연기표현방법은 확연히 다르다. 연기자가 영화, TV, 연극, 뮤지컬 등 각 장르의 연기를 넘나들기 위해서는 각각의 세분화된 특성들을 이해해야 한다. 각기 다른 연기 방법론의 특성을 이해하고 각 매체의 공간적인 상황에 적응할 수 있는 표현법을 습득하면 각각의 장르를 넘나들며 연기하는 것이 좀 더 자유로워진다. 이것을 위해서 연기자는 반드시 각 장르의 특성들을 이해하고 습득하여야 한다. 우선적으로 매체연기와 무대연기의 차이점을 이해하고 각기 다른 장르의 특성을 이해하는 것이 중요하다.
