Abstract

PMO(Project Management Office) is considered an efficient work approach in that it delivers knowledge about the success or failure of projects in the past, and it provides project teams with support services related to the project. With the difficulties related to project management constantly increasing, PMO, as a new approach to management that enhances the efficiency of performance and the successful management of a project is urgently needed due to the limits of existing management methods. In this study, a factor analysis was carried out based upon the core competencies for PMO workers derived from previous research, and core factors including PMO competency clusters were suggested. According to the success factors and characteristics of the project, PMO competency clusters are considered as important criteria in making a decision when organizing PMO.
