Design of Mobile Application for Virtual Reality-based Tour Information Using Leap-Motion and Unity 3D

립 모션과 유니티 3D를 이용한 가상현실 기반의 관광정보 모바일 어플리케이션 설계

Abstract

In this paper, we propose a mobile application(app) for virtual reality(VR)-based tour information using Leap-motion and Unity 3D. The proposed app searches the city using first person view drone and selects buildings of interest to provide building information and related videos using 360 VR. For stable and intuitive Leap-motion based drone manipulation, we propose a drone control algorithm based on DAR(Driving available region). We maximize the user's immersion feeling by providing buildings and roads by topographical authoring tool and asset store of Unity 3D and giving the 360 VR of the buildings of interest. As a result, it could be confirmed that the proposed app can effectively provide tourist information with the configuration of the virtual reality environment and the stable drone motion control based on the Leap-motion.

본 논문에서는 립 모션과 유니티 3D를 이용한 가상현실(VR, Virtual Reality) 기반의 관광정보 제공 모바일 어플리케이션(앱)을 제안한다. 제안된 앱은 1인칭 시점의 드론을 이용하여 도시를 탐색하고, 관심있는 건물을 선택하여 건물 정보 및 관련 영상을 360 VR로 제공하는 것을 특징으로 한다. 안정적이고 직관적인 립 모션 기반의 드론 조작을 위해서 운전 가능 영역(DAR, Driving Available Region) 기반의 드론 조정 알고리즘을 제안한다. 또한 사용자의 몰입감을 극대화하기 위한 가상의 도시 지형은 유니티 3D 엔진의 지형 저작도구 및 에셋 스토어를 이용하고, 효과적인 건물 정보의 제공을 위해서 360 VR 영상을 활용한다. 구현 결과에서 제안된 관광정보 제공 앱은 안정적인 립 모션 기반의 드론 움직임 및 실제와 같은 가상현실 환경의 구성으로 관광 정보를 효과적으로 제공할 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.
