Abstract

This study is a descriptive study to identify a nurse's fatigue, perceived health status and their impact on health promoting behavior. This study collected data from June 1 to June 15, 2018 for 135 nurses working in five hospitals in the city of B. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 22.0 program with technical statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis. As a result of the study, it was found that the health promoting behavior of the nurses according to general characteristics were significantly different according to the exercise status. Nurses' fatigue was 4.50 point out of seven point, perceived health status were 2.76 out of five, and health promoting behavior was 2.09 out of four. Perceived health status and health promoting behavior (r=.408, p<.001) has a static correlation, fatigue and health promoting behavior (r=-.301, p<.001) and fatigue and perceived health status (r=-.416, p<.001) were negatively correlated. A significant factor affecting health promoting behavior is the perceived health status (${\beta}=.355$, p<.001) and exercise status (${\beta}=-.328$, p<.001). Therefore, in order to improve nurse health promoting behavior, strategic programs are needed for correct perception of health and exercise.
