Abstract

Inorganic binder was made from MSWI (Municipal Solid Waste Incinerator) botom ash and blast furnace slag by geopolylmer technique in this study. The optimum condition of preparation was investigated with 10 ~ 70 wt% of MSWI bottom ash on the basis of the compressive strength. It was measured to evaluate the feasibility to be able to use inorganic binder as alternative concrete. The specimens were solidified under alkali condition and cured at 50oC for the period of 1, 3, and 7 days. Compressive strength measured showed the maximum vale or 95 MPa at the condition of 7 days and 10 wt% of bottom ash. XRD and XRF was also analyzed to find geopolymer matrix. Geopolymer structure was found out by these results. KSLT was used to evaluate the environmental safety for inorganic binder prepared. As the results heavy metals were immobilized and stabilized.
