Effects of a 12weeks walking exercise and nutrition education on adiponectin and inflammatory cytokine in obese juveniles

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of two exercise program(walking + nutrition education and walking) on body composition, adiponectin, inflammation markers IL-6, TNF-$\alpha$, in obese juveniles. The subjects participated for this study were twenty one obese man(%fat: over 35%, age: 13-15 middle school student), and then they were divided into three group: walking exercise and nutrition education group(n=7), walking exercise group(n=7), control group(n=7). walking exercise was composed of treadmill ellipse instructions. The results were as follows: The weight, %fat, BMI and WHR of exercise group and the exercise nutrition group were decreased after treatment then before treatment, but the weight, %fat, BMI and WHR of the control group had no differences between treatments. The adiponectin were no difference among the group, but the adiponectin was increased after treatment then before treatment. The Inflammatory Cytokine IL-6 and TNF-$\alpha$ of the walking exercise nutrition education group and the walking exercise group were decreased after treatment then before treatment, Consequently, the decrease of IL-6 and TNF-α being secreted at obesity cells from weight decrease by walking exercise, nutrition education and the increase of adiponectin may restrict the occurrence of inflammation of obesity juveniles.

본 연구에서는 12주간 걷기운동과 영양교육이 비만 청소년들의 신체구성, 아디포넥틴 및 염증성 사이토카인 IL-6, TNF-$\alpha$에 대해 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 분석하기 위하여 체지방률 35%이상인 남자 중학생을 운동영양집단(걷기운동+영양교육), 운동집단(걷기운동), 통제집단으로 각 집단 7명씩 총 21명을 선정하여 연구한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 운동영양집단과 운동집단의 경우 체중, 체지방률, BMI와 WHR은 운동처치 후 감소했으며 운동영양집단이 더욱 유의하게 감소하였다. 하지만, 통제집단은 증가하였거나 특별한 차이가 없었다. 운동영양집단과 운동집단의 경우 아디포넥틴은 집단 간에는 차이가 없었지만 운동 처치 후 증가하였으며 통제집단은 감소하였다. 운동영양집단과 운동집단의 경우 염증성 사이토카인 IL-6, TNF-$\alpha$는 운동처치 후 감소하였으며 운동영양집단이 더욱 유의하게 감소하였다. 반면, 통제집단은 증가하였다. 결론적으로 12주간의 걷기운동과 영양교육 병행은 체중감량과 체지방량의 감소로 지방세포에서 분비되는 아디포넥틴 농도의 증가와 염증성 사이토카인 IL-6, TNF-$\alpha$ 농도의 감소를 보인 점은 비만 청소년들의 면역력이 향상되고 염증인자 발현을 억제시켰다고 볼 수 있다.
