Abstract

This study examined the fitness of a path model for the relationship among academic motivation, ego-resilience and satisfaction in major of nursing students. Data was collected from 232 students by means of self reported questionnaires about academic motivation, ego-resilience and satisfaction in major. The collected data were analyzed using PASW 18.0 (win) and AMOS 18.0 (win) program. Model fit indices for the hypothetical model were in good agreement with recommended level (${\chi}^2=65.224$(p=.012), p=.012, ${\chi}^2/df=1.553$, GFI=.959, TLI=.973, CFI=.983, RMSEA=.049). Based on the constructed model, academic motivation (.703) and ego-resilience (.199) showed a direct effect on satisfaction in major, while academic motivation showed an indirect effect (.072), and academic motivation showed a direct effect on ego-resilience (.361). This results suggested that strategies or intervention program enhancing satisfaction in major, ego-resilience, and academic motivation should be considered.
