Abstract

The purpose of this study was conducted to investigate the factors influencing SNS addiction of high school students for providing the basic data to develop SNS addiction prevention program. The data were collected from 350 high school students in B city from July 2 to 19, 2013 and analyzed with t-test, ANOVA and multiple regression by using SPSS 18.0 program. The significant factors of SNS addiction were average using time daily (${\beta}=.192$, p<.001), using time per SNS connect (${\beta}=.089$, p=.047), psychological problems (${\beta}=.528$, p=<.001), social anxiety (${\beta}=.089$, p=.047), depression (${\beta}=.090$, p=.045), smartphone addiction (${\beta}=.218$, p=<.001). And these factors explained 57.7% of the variance in SNS addiction. In conclusion, the results from this study indicated a need to develop the intervention program to prevent SNS addiction.
